According to Government of India, the Aadhaar Card needs to be linked to the existing bank account. As per the norms, every bank account holder of the Bank of India has to link the Aadhaar Card to the existing bank account to avail the benefits of the Government and other banking facilities. Bank of India has come up with online and offline facilities to facilitate the linking process smoother and easier.
If you are an existing customer of Bank of India and have not linked your Aadhaar Card, then here are the steps that you must follow.
You must have registered user id and password for internet banking and mobile banking to avail the services. You can always ask the bank for the user id and password if you do not have.
Login to the Bank of India official website (http://www.bankofindia.co.in/english/Int-Banking.aspx)
Login with your registered user id and password
Click on the link “Registration of Aadhaar Number in the Internet Banking” and it will take you to the page for registering the Aadhaar Card and bank account
Provide your 12 digits Aadhaar Number and click on submit.
Your Aadhaar number will be registered to your bank account. You will receive an SMS or email for the confirmation as well.
If you do not have access to the internet properly or facing issue online, then not to worry. The Bank of India also provides the offline option for linking Aadhaar number with the bank account. It is always better to carry your original Aadhaar and a copy of it while visiting the branch.
Visit the nearest Bank of India branch.
Ask for the Aadhaar linking form from the executive.
Fill in the form and provide all the details including the Aadhaar number.
Self attests the form and the copy of the Aadhaar card as well.
You may be asked to show the original Aadhaar card for verification at the counter.
Once you submitted the Aadhaar card linking form, your Aadhaar card will be linked to the existing bank account. However, you will receive the confirmation via SMS or email once it is done.
Aadhaar registration can be done through the ATM as well. However, you have to visit the Bank of India ATM.
Visit the nearest ATM and swipe your card
Enter your PIN Code and navigate to the Other Services
Select the Aadhaar Registration option
Insert the 12 digits Aadhaar Number and insert it again to confirm
Press OK button
Your Aadhaar card will be registered to your bank account and an SMS will be received in the registered mobile number for the confirmation.
Apart from it, a customer can also call the IVR services and get the Aadhaar card registered against the existing bank account.
