Central Bank of India is one of the largest nationalized public banks and it has a huge customer base. However, all the customers who have their bank accounts in the Central Bank of India must link their Aadhaar card with the bank account. This has been made mandatory by the Government of India. The Central Bank has also started multiple mediums to facilitate it for the customers.
If you have not linked your Aadhaar card to your bank account, then here is how you have to do it for Central Bank of India accounts.
Online banking has made banking easy and similarly has eased the process of linking Aadhaar card with the bank account. However, you need to make sure that you have your Internet banking user id and password.
Visit the official website of internet banking of Central Bank of India (https://www.centralbank.net.in/jsp/startMain.jsp)
Log in with your user id and password and navigate to the home screen
On the left hand side, you would come across the Aadhaar Seeding option and you must click on that link.
You will be redirected to a new page for Aadhaar registration where you must enter the Aadhaar number twice, one to enter and another to confirm.
Once completed, you shall receive a confirmation from the bank.
It takes few days to link the Aadhaar with the bank account and once the linking is completed, you will receive an SMS in your registered mobile number from Central Bank of India.
If you do not use the internet banking or do not have internet access, then the offline method can be used. However, you must have the original Aadhaar card and take a copy of it.
Visit the nearest Central Bank of India branch and ask for the Aadhaar linking form.
Fill in the form and provide all the details required for the Aadhaar linking including the 12 digit Aadhaar number.
Self-attest the form and the copy and hand it over to the executive.
You may be asked to show your original Aadhaar copy for the verification purpose.
You will be handed a receipt for the acceptance of the form.
Once the Aadhaar is linked with the bank, you shall receive an SMS from the bank in your registered mobile number.
ATM is another way to link your Aadhaar card with the Central Bank of India account. However, you need to ensure that you visit the Central Bank ATM.
Visit the nearest Central bank of India ATM and swipe your card.
You will be asked to enter your PIN
Navigate to the Service category and select the Aadhaar Seeding or Register option
You will be asked to insert your 12 digit Aadhaar card number. You have to re-enter it to confirm.
You shall get an auto-generated message for the acceptance
Once the linking is done, you will receive an SMS from the Central Bank of India.
The last told date for the linking of Aadhaar card and bank account is December 31, 2017.
