Link Aadhaar with HDFC Bank Account Online & Offline

Under the PMLA rules, the Government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with the bank accounts by 31st December 2017. Therefore all the bank account holders should furnish Aadhaar number issued by UIDAI to the bank. If the account holders are failed to do so, their bank accounts will be inoperative till the Aadhaar number linked with the bank accounts. RBI also clarified on the mandate of Aadhaar. HDFC bank has initiated various ways to help their customers in the process of linking the Aadhaar number.

There are various ways to link Aadhaar number to the HDFC bank account

  • 1.Mobile Banking
  • Net banking
  • 3.Phone Banking
  • 4.ATM
  • Offline

Link Aadhaar with HDFC Bank Account Online

The linkage of Aadhaar to HDFC Account can be done in two ways under online mode.

Net banking

You need to have the following at the time of linking Aadhaar with the bank account online.

  • Your user id and password for net banking
  • 12 digit Aadhaar number

Steps to be followed are as under

  • Visit the website hdfcbank.com
  • Log in to net banking with your user id and password
  • Under Accounts option select ‘Request’ section
  • Click on ‘view/update Aadhaar number.’
  • Enter your Aadhaar number
  • You have to select the account to which Aadhaar number to be linked
  • Re-enter Aadhaar number
  • Click on ‘Update’
  • Click on ‘confirm’ to submit your Aadhaar number after you have checked the updated details

Mobile banking

You need to have the following at the time of linking Aadhaar with the bank account online.

  • User id and password for mobile banking
  • 12-digit number of Aadhaar card

Steps to be followed are as under

  • Log in to mobile banking App
  • Under Accounts option select ‘Request’ section
  • Click on ‘view/update Aadhaar number.’
  • Enter your Aadhaar number
  • You have to select the account to which Aadhaar number to be linked
  • Re-enter Aadhaar number
  • Click on ‘Update’
  • Click on ‘confirm’ to submit your Aadhaar number after checking the updated details

Link Aadhaar with HDFC Bank Account Offline

The linkage of Aadhaar to HDFC Bank Account under offline mode requires the following documents:

  • The Aadhaar linkage form of the HDFC bank (Aadhaar linkage form is also available in website)
  • The original Aadhaar card and the photocopy of the Aadhaar card

The steps need to be followed discussed below

  • Visit the HDFC branch
  • Collect the Aadhaar linkage form
  • Fill the form with details
  • Approach the respective bank official with the filled up form, and both the original and photocopy of the Aadhaar card
  • The bank official will link your Aadhaar number to your bank account
  • The confirmation SMS will be sent after linkage is complete
