The government has recently passed a law to link your UIDAI number to the bank account in order to avail some government benefits.
State bank of India offers four types of convenient option to link UIDAI number to the bank account. If you have SBI account, then you can go through this article to clear your doubts. As per State Bank of India, those who opened a new account after June month would have 6 months to be linked to Aadhaar. To link your Aadhaar to your SBI account online
STEP 1: Visit the official website www.onlinesbi.com
STEP 2: Navigate to “Link your Aadhaar card number” option under ‘My accounts’.
STEP 3: You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to input your 12 digit UIDAI number.
STEP 4: Click on submit.
STEP 5: A confirmation message will be sent to customer’s registered mobile number regarding the status of the linking process.
Link your Aadhaar to SBI account offline
If you don’t have net banking facility or SMS alert facility, then you can directly visit the SBI branch. Fill up the Aadhaar enrollment form and submit it to SBI bank officer. After verifying your Aadhaar card details, your account will be linked to the bank later.
Link your Aadhaar card to your SBI account through SMS
Linking Aadhaar card through SMS is not available in few banks. But, SBI offers customers a convenient facility to link their UIDAI number. Here are few steps that you need to follow.
STEP 1: If you have already registered your bank account with your mobile number, then you will be able to easily your Aadhaar card to your State bank account via SMS.
STEP 2: Just type your SMS in the following pattern
UID (space) Aadhaar number(space)Account number
STEP 3: Send it to Number 567676. On successful completion, an SMS confirmation will be sent to you.
If you have already linked your bank account with Aadhaar card number, then you will get a reply message from State bank.
Linking your Aadhaar card through ATM
- State bank of India offers an option for seeding UIDAI number through ATM card.
- Visit SBI ATM center.
- Insert your debit card and enter your PIN.
- Choose the service menu, where you can select the Aadhaar card registration.
- Enter the types of account to which your Aadhaar card will be linked.
- On successful completion, you will receive a seeding receipt.
