The 12-digit Unique Identification Number, i.e., the Aadhaar Card serves an array of versatile purposes that were quite difficult to access before its introduction. The card functions as the most preferred mode of identification and works just about anywhere from acting as a valid ID proof to being the most preferred proof of address.

United Bank of India, one of the oldest banks under Govt. of India proposes various benefits to its account holders once they link their Aadhaar with the account. It is a recognized bank for providing direct and uninhibited access to several schemes including the PMNRF, Gas Subsidy Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc.
In order to link the Aadhaar Number with United Bank of India Account, the account holders of the bank are required to visit the nearest local branch of the bank. Please carry the following documents along:
- Photocopy and Original of the Aadhaar Card.
- Duplicate copy and Original of the United Bank Account Passbook.
- A handwritten or typed out application of request for linking the Aadhaar Card with the Bank Account.
- Application Form for Aadhaar Seeding with the existing United Bank Account, duly filled and signed.
Offline Linking Process
Take these documents with you along with the originals of the same to the nearest United Bank Branch and submit these to the concerned bank officer. The bank officer shall verify the submitted documents.
Upon successful verification of the documents, the official shall return the original documents back to you. Additionally, the officer shall also provide you with the bottom half of the application as a stamped acknowledgment of your submitted request for Aadhaar Number seeding with your United Bank of India account.
This acknowledgement receipt acts as an official proof that your request has been successfully registered and the concerned task is in process.
Online Linking Process
Upon successful completion of the process on the bank’s side, the same shall be intimated to you via registered email and mobile number. If the process has faced no glitch then the email and text shall state that your United Bank Account has been successfully linked with Aadhaar. If the bank comes across any glitch due to which the process of Aadhaar Linking could not be complete, then the same shall be communicated to you via text and email. In this case, you shall also be notified of the reason why the bank was unable to link your Aadhaar to the account. You shall further be requested to re-apply for the same by visiting the bank’s nearest branch.
United Bank of India does not provide the online or the mobile/ATM facility of seeding the Aadhaar Number with the bank account yet. Hence, the applicants can get their Aadhaar linked via personal banking (i.e., offline method) facility only.
